Meet Waana: Realising the time has come, kua tae mai te wa
Waana used hospice services as she approached the end of her life. We spoke with her about her experiences of death and dying – both as a child and as an adult watching several loved family members die.
She also shared the importance of connection to whanau, how having people who know and understand you around gives a great deal of comfort.
Waana was very generous in sharing her personal fears with us, showing that it is okay to be frightened and talk about it with those you love around you.
