Having moved from the UK in 1993, Alan initially worked in Wairoa for 5 years and then for the last 21 years in Hastings. A staunch advocate for the specialty of General Practice, Alan has a deep commitment to holistic care especially around the end of life as this is where some of the strongest bonds with patients and family members are made.
Married to Ali, a Registered surgical nurse, and with 3 non-medical adult children, the family are firmly committed to life in New Zealand. Alan brings his inquisitive nature and an overwhelming desire to find solutions to unanswered questions to the Board.
