Fundraising for Families
Fundraising for Families
Every year, we can offer our services at no cost to patients and their whānau thanks to our beautiful community supporting us through fundraising.
We recently spoke to Holly whose dad died at home in Havelock North during lockdown last year. Holly has just spent a month on her feet running 65km to raise funds for Cranford Hospice. Finishing her month on what would have been her dad’s 65th birthday, Holly has raised an amazing $5,530.
Although a short journey with Cranford, Holly and her family were so grateful for the support they received for David from his diagnosis to death.
‘Fundraising for the Hospice was a no brainer after seeing the selfless love and care Dad’s hospice nurse gave him during his last days, and right up until his last breath. We were in unknown territory but our nurse knew what Dad would need before we did.
Holly wondered how to raise money for Cranford for a while, even trying to convince her partner to run a marathon to raise funds and ‘let her off the hook’. In Holly’s words, ‘Cranford was not just for dad, but for all of us’ and she was keen to give back.
You are inspiring Holly. Thank you so much!
We are extremely grateful to everyone who donates to Cranford Hospice. In addition to amazing individuals like Holly, we also have businesses and other community groups who support us.
Malcolm Cox from Cox Partners recently visited us with a donation of $3,000 from their Giving for Good programme. You can find more information about this at www.coxpartners.co.nz
Abbie from our fundraising team was also presented with not one, but two cheques from the Wine Country chapter of BNI who ran a fantastic movie fundraising event recently, in addition to the member contribution they regularly donate.
