Street Appeal Raises $33,932.40 with generosity and community spirit
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible generosity of the Hawke’s Bay community following our annual Street Appeal held from 6 March to 8 March 2025. With the support of over 200 volunteers, both young and old, the appeal was a resounding success and served as a testament to the kindness and compassion that defines our region.
Thanks to the outpouring of support, a total of $33,932.40 was raised during the Street Appeal. This is a truly amazing result, and it will go a long way toward supporting the day-to-day operations of Cranford Hospice. Every dollar raised, no matter how big or small, will help us continue to provide vital palliative care to those in need in our community.
Carol-Ann Stubbs, Cranford Hospice’s Development and Engagement Director, shared her thoughts on the fantastic outcome,“We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of the Hawke’s Bay community. To raise over $33,000 in just three days is an incredible achievement, and it speaks volumes about the support for Cranford Hospice. We are so grateful to all our volunteers, and to everyone who donated. Your support means we can continue to provide compassionate care to those who need it most.”
The Street Appeal was also a humbling experience for many of our volunteers, who were moved by the personal stories shared by members of the public. Many people commented, “You never know when you might need Cranford Hospice,” highlighting the far-reaching impact our services have on families in our region.
Our Street Appeal is part of our Go Orange for Cranford campaign this March, where we aim to raise over $90,000 during the month to ensure we can continue delivering the compassionate care that is so vital to our community. Funds raised from this campaign will help ensure that Cranford Hospice can provide exceptional specialist palliative care, to people in our in-patient unit and at home.
In 2024 alone, Cranford Hospice cared for 696 patients and their families. To keep our services running, we rely on the generosity of the community, with approximately $4 million needing to be fundraised.
We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time, and to every person who contributed to the appeal. Your support helps us continue to provide compassionate care to those in need in Hawke’s Bay.
