Cameron’s Song
Young people can find it particularly hard to process their grief, they need a voice, and music gives them a voice.
Having the support of Cranford Hospice through music therapy gave Cameron an outlet for his grief. Laura, our music therapist, worked with Cameron to write a song that allowed him to express his feelings. Cameron’s mum, Nicky, noticed a change in him after he’d been to music therapy.
“Cameron loved seeing Laura. I saw the results. He’d be getting a bit dysregulated, but after spending time with Laura, he’d have another week or two where he’d be good. You could see that music therapy calmed him.”
—Nicky, Cameron’s mum
