Cranford Hospice’s three retail stores are seeking drivers who are responsible for the collecting and delivery of goods to Cranford Hospice Retail Store Customers.
This is a great opportunity to work as part of a friendly team in a demanding but supportive environment. An interesting and varied experience of voluntary work is guaranteed!
Ideally a minimum of 3.5 hours a week from Monday to Friday. The following shifts may be available:
Hastings Store: 9.45am to 1.15pm or 1pm to 4.30pm
Napier Store: 9.45am to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm
Waipukurau Store: 10am to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm
Key tasks
- Liaise with manager with the collection and delivery schedule
- Ensure vehicle is well maintained, reporting any issues as soon as possible, and completing monthly checks.
- Carry out deliveries and pickups, always ensure own and others safety
- Greeting and thanking donors and customers at the pickup and delivery points
- Report to manager any incidents and debrief at end of shift
- Leave vehicle with plenty of fuel, clean and tidy
- Completing the vehicle logbook.
Essential criteria
- Full and current NZ Drivers Licence.
- Flexible and adaptable to deal with different customers
- Reliable and honest
- Good communication skills.
- Adequate physical and cognitive abilities to ensure safety of yourself, and those around you when performing your role
