Do you have a love of flowers and a creative eye for arranging them?
As a Flower Arranging Volunteer, you’ll help bring colour, beauty, and joy into the hospice environment. Fresh flowers can brighten a room, spark conversation, evoke special memories, and provide comfort to patients, families/whānau, staff, and visitors.
This rewarding volunteer role offers the opportunity to use your creativity while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
What you’ll be doing:
- Sourcing flowers from your own garden, friends’ gardens, the Cranford Hospice gardens, or donated flowers when available.
- Checking existing flower arrangements throughout the hospice and refreshing them as needed.
- Caring for and maintaining floral displays to ensure they remain fresh and attractive.
- Creating up to eight beautiful floral arrangements for public areas throughout the hospice.
- Arranging cheerful posies in small vases to accompany patient meal trays.
- Removing and disposing of old flowers when necessary.
- Cleaning vases, work surfaces, and storage areas after use.
- Ensuring all tools and equipment are safely cleaned and stored away.

- A love of flowers and creativity.
- An eye for presentation and attention to detail.
- Reliability and the ability to work independently.
- A warm and caring approach, with an appreciation for the difference small gestures can make.
