Weekend Receptionist

About the role

Do you enjoy meeting people and helping others feel welcome?

As a Weekend Reception Volunteer, you’ll be one of the first people visitors see when they arrive at Cranford Hospice. Your warm welcome and willingness to help can make a real difference to patients, families/whānau, visitors, staff and fellow volunteers.

You’ll help with reception and light administration, while providing a calm, friendly and welcoming presence for everyone who comes through our doors.

Time commitment

Saturday, Sunday and public holiday shifts.

Two shifts available each day.

What you’ll bring

  • Greeting visitors and helping them feel welcome.
  • Assisting visitors with signing in and providing directions around the hospice.
  • Answering and directing phone calls.
  • Receiving and communicating messages in a timely manner.
  • Keeping reception and waiting areas tidy and welcoming.
  • Assisting with administration tasks as required.
  • Attending volunteer training, orientation and support meetings as required.
  • Following Cranford Hospice policies, procedures and confidentiality requirements.
