Help find a new home for Cranford

Cranford Hospice Foundation has launched a public search to identify a suitable site for the new home for Cranford. This follows last month’s announcement that Trustees had made the difficult decision to no longer proceed with the proposed Chesterhope site as the location for the build of a new hospice.

Cranford Hospice is asking the people of Hawke’s Bay to help them find a new home. If you know of an appropriate site, please get in touch today (Alesha.hope@cranfordhospice.org.nz; 06 878 7047).

Cranford Hospice will be assessing sites against a range of parameters, that will ensure the new home will meet the needs of the people of Hawke’s Bay, now and in the future. The site assessment parameters will cover location, accessibility, services, design attributes, and ground conditions.

The assessment of proposed sites will be focused on ensuring the new hospice facility can continue to provide patients and their whānau with the very best compassionate care and support that we are known for”, says Chris Tremain, Cranford Hospice Foundation Chairman.

The need for a new hospice for Hawke’s Bay remains urgent”, continues Tremain. “More than ever, our community needs a place where we can support our loved ones at the end of life. A place that will provide a hub for palliative care services for generations to come”.

The current Knight Street building is no longer fit-for-purpose due to its age and design, and the expanding need for palliative care services in Hawke’s Bay.

The Hawke’s Bay community have shown their unwavering belief in the vision for a new Hospice. Cranford now needs to find a suitable site to turn this vision into reality.

The incredible community support has brought the current funds raised for the project to $14.4 million. To all those that have pledged their support, thank you. It is your generosity that will bring this vision to reality”, says Tremain.
