Flower Arranging Volunteer
About the role
Fresh flowers help make Cranford Hospice feel welcoming, homely and comforting for patients, families/whānau, staff and visitors.
As a Flower Arranging Volunteer, you’ll use your creativity to create and maintain floral displays throughout the hospice, including arrangements for public areas and cheerful posies to accompany patient meal trays.
You’ll source flowers from your own garden, friends’ gardens, the Cranford Hospice gardens or donated flowers when available, and help keep existing arrangements fresh and attractive.
Time commitment
Monday and Thursday mornings, flexible start time.
What you’ll bring
- Creating up to eight floral arrangements for public areas throughout the hospice.
- Creating small posies to accompany patient meal trays.
- Checking and refreshing existing arrangements throughout the hospice.
- Removing and disposing of old flowers when needed.
- Cleaning vases, work surfaces and storage areas.
- Cleaning and safely storing tools and equipment after use.
