Nurses Appeal

Help keep Cranford Hospice nurses on the road, bringing specialist palliative care to patients and whānau across Hawke’s Bay. Your gift helps cover the rising cost of fuel, so more people can receive expert care, comfort and reassurance in the place they feel safest—at home.

Help our nurses reach patients at home

Every day, Cranford Hospice nurses travel across Hawke’s Bay to bring specialist palliative care directly into people’s homes.

For many patients, these visits mean they can remain where they feel safest and most comfortable, at home, with the people, familiar things and memories that matter most.

But rising fuel costs are making every journey more expensive.

Why your support matters

Cranford Hospice provides specialist palliative care, free of charge to patients and whānau across Hawke’s Bay. Around half of the funding needed to provide this care comes from the generosity of our community.

Every month, our nurses travel from Māhia to Takapau, visiting people in towns, rural communities and aged care facilities, bringing expert care, comfort and reassurance wherever it’s needed.

Every month our nurses..

Lynlee’s story

Living with advanced cancer, Lynlee knows first-hand the reassurance of having Cranford Hospice alongside her and her family.

For Lynlee’s family, those visits mean much more than medical care. They bring reassurance, comfort and peace of mind.

“The nurses, they’re just incredible. Their care, their way of caring for me is just incredible…they’re always popping in and talking to you and reassuring you about anything you might be worried about.” Lynlee

Clinical Nurse Specialist Jo regularly travels throughout Hawke’s Bay, including fortnightly visits to Wairoa and other rural communities, supporting patients wherever they call home.

“As a palliative care nurse, there is no greater honour than walking beside people and their whanau when they need us most”  Jo, Clinical Nurse Specialist

Every journey brings expert care, comfort and reassurance to people, helping them feel safest and most at ease.

How your gift could help

Help keep our nurses reaching patients at home

Every day our nurses help people remain where they most want to be—at home with the people and places they love.

But they can only do that if they can get there.

Your gift today will help ensure our nurses can continue making vital home visits, supporting families across Hawke’s Bay and reaching people living in rural communities who rely on our care.

Together, we can help ensure patients and whānau continue to receive compassionate hospice care in the comfort of their own homes.
