Life Review

Recording memories, thoughts and feelings, photos, and memorabilia can enhance the meaning and quality of a patient’s life and provide an ongoing legacy. We offer a range of life review options to suit the needs of our patients. 

Life review options

Patients are supported by a trained volunteer to record, transcribe and produce the life review service they have chosen. The time it takes to complete your life review depends on the option you chose, a life review book can take three to four months, where a life review letter can be completed in two to four weeks. 

Life review book

A record of memories and events from your life that are meaningful to you and your loved ones. You can cover various stages of your life or focus on just one part.  

Your life review book can be up to 50 pages, with the option to enhance your book with up to 40 photographs and special documents, such as birth or marriage certificates. Once completed you will receive one free copy with the option to purchase additional copies. 

Photo book

A photo book primarily consists of photos with accompanying captions that identify and describe the people, places, and times in each photo that holds meaning.  

A photo book can be up to 50 pages long and consist of approximately 80 photos. Once completed you will receive one free copy with the option to purchase additional copies. 

Memorabilia book

A memorabilia book is like the photo book, but it can contain additional objects, souvenirs, mementos and documents that hold special meaning for you. 

A memorabilia book can be up to 50 pages long. Once completed you will receive one free copy with the option to purchase additional copies. 

Life review letter

A life review letter to your loved ones to thank them, share your feelings, values, life lessons, homes and dreams. It may include special legacy details and stories about your life. It can be a very personal letter to a specific loved one. These letters can be a lasting gift to your whānau and friends. 

Eulogy notes

Thinking about your own funeral or memorial can be difficult. Eulogy notes is a way for you to show people how you would like to be remembered. You can include what you would like people to say about your, identify who and what was important to you, and any life lessons that you would like passed on.
