Cranford Hospice is governed by two independent charitable trusts, working together to ensure high-quality hospice care remains available to the people of Hawke’s Bay now and into the future.
Together, these two governance bodies provide operational oversight, long-term financial sustainability, and strategic leadership for the future of hospice care in our region.
Cranford Hospice Trust
Established on 1 July 2017, the Cranford Hospice Trust is responsible for the governance and oversight of Cranford Hospice’s day-to-day operations.
The Trust Board works closely with the Chief Executive and senior leadership team to guide strategy, ensure strong clinical and organisational governance, and support the delivery of specialist palliative care services across Hawke’s Bay.
The Board is focused on ensuring Cranford Hospice continues to meet the needs of patients, whānau and the wider community with compassion, quality and care.
Cranford Hospice Foundation
The Cranford Hospice Foundation is Cranford Hospice’s capital endowment trust, established to help secure the long-term sustainability of hospice services for future generations.
As demand for palliative care continues to grow, the Foundation plays a vital role in building financial resilience by investing funds to generate income that supports the ongoing delivery of hospice care.
This helps reduce reliance on annual fundraising and ensures our services can continue to be provided at no cost to patients and whānau.
The Foundation also leads the fundraising and development of Cranford Hospice’s new purpose-built hospice, helping shape the future of care in Hawke’s Bay.
Through careful stewardship and long-term planning, the Foundation helps ensure Cranford Hospice remains strong and sustainable for generations to come.
