For nearly 50 years, Cranford Hospice has walked alongside the people of Hawke’s Bay, providing specialist palliative care and bereavement support, free of charge, to patients and whānau. Our care extends beyond the patient, embracing family, honouring culture and ensuring no one walks this journey alone.
A new home for Cranford Hospice
As Hawke’s Bay’s population grows and ages, the need for hospice care continues to increase. Over the next 20 years, demand for palliative care in our region is expected to grow by 38%, with more people presenting with increasingly complex medical, cultural and social needs.
To meet that need, we are building a new purpose-built home at 238 Havelock Road, Hastings. Our new home will allow us to expand our capacity and strengthen our community services.
Our new home will be more than a building. It will be a place of comfort, dignity, connection and care for generations to come.

We have raised over $20 million for our new home; with rising building costs, our target has increased. We are well over 80% of the way there towards our new target.
