Helen Walker QSM has a BSc (Massey) majoring in physiology and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand. Rurally based, Helen runs a successful farming operation in Central Hawke’s Bay with her husband Ian.
Helen brings significant governance experience to Cranford Hospice. She is currently involved with the NZ Singing School Trust, the Central Health & Disability Ethics Committee and the Medical Sciences Council. Past roles include governance and directorships with organisations such as Unison Networks, Health Hawkes Bay and the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board.
A passionate singer and performer, Helen has been the Musical Director for shows such as Phantom of the Opera, Chess and Les Misérables.
