About the Role
The Education Services Manager is responsible for leading and developing the Palliative Care Education within Hawke’s Bay to equip health professionals working in specialist palliative care as well as Primary and Secondary Care services.
They will lead and coordinate the delivery of mandatory & other training for the professional development of Cranford Hospice Trust staff and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering and supporting Hospice NZ training programmes such as the Fundamentals of Palliative Care, Syringe Driver Workshops and Palliative Care for Caregivers
- Developing, delivering and supporting other palliative care education opportunities
- Developing & co-ordinating CHT staff mandatory training
- Developing and producing Ko Awatea online modules for CHT staff
- Planning and supporting health professionals & students during their placement at CHT (e.g.Trainee Interns, EIT nursing students, CAP nurses)
- Active member of the Quality Improvement and Risk Management Team and Clinical Governance
- Conduct training needs analysis and provide annual training plans
- Provide ongoing contractual and CHT Executive Leadership reports
- Networking with other health professionals, peers and colleagues
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Nurse
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Post Graduate Qualification in relevant area
- Experience in Clinical Education
This position is for 24 hours per week but there will be times when flexibility with hours and days of work will be required.
